Person Of The Week — June 9, 2025 Sheryl Cababa

Sheryl Cababa is a design researcher and strategist focusing on systems thinking and equity-centered design, mostly in the realm of education. Currently a Chief Strategy Officer at the equity-centered design and research consultancy Optimistic Design, she has worked with a diverse base of clients, including the Gates Foundation, Microsoft, IKEA, and Khan Academy. Sheryl is the author of Closing the Loop: Systems Thinking for Designers. She also shares her knowledge as a speaker and workshop facilitator and educates the next generation of Human-Centered Design and Engineering students at the University of Washington.
